Girl scout Crossover

raw pictures, uncropped because I have no time!

Emily's Vest, at the end of Juniors
They received even MORE patches at the crossover
Rachel's vest, she wasn't a Junior as long as Emily, so not as many patches
She attended as many events, but they were on her Brownie vest
However, she does have the fancy crossover rainbow from Brownies

Quilting night with the grandparents...

Not only do I not have the time or the talent...I don't have the cool thousand dollar sewing machine.
So my parents helped the girls finish their quilting projects for scouts...thank you!

Girls and robots...

Girl scouts had set up a chance to work with Lego Mindstorms...

It was fun for about two hours
The programming is pretty much set for you
Rachel especially loved to have it spin and laugh maniacally

Frontier days...

One thing I learned in scrapbooking was that if you were behind, start with your most recent pictures, and move back in time...so that's what we're doing. Last weekend was the girls trip to the zoo, and to frontier city, both to work on scout stuff.

pictures are in reverse, for some weird reason.
this is the last ride we took...perfect timing too, as it was dark and the lights were exhilarating

obligatory cutie-pie picture of Nathan.
He really loved staying out all day and seeing the world.

yes, I let my kids ride with strangers.
actually, I was very disappointed, they wouldn't let me on with Nathan,
as only children who can walk are allowed on. grrrr.

teehee, Nathan's in jail, accused of having a dirty diaper

Girls and their dolls, corn husk style.
Good timing since we just made some for their Laura Wilder board

Rachel Crossing Over

now we officially have TWO juniors (what a relief, they can work on patchwork together!)
(stupid blogger, I've been trying to upload pictures for 12 hours...I'll try again later)

Yay! It finally uploaded!

Emily's investiture

and troop rededication. It was quite sweet, and fun to watch. Best of all, the troop leader and her daughter cannot have wheat, so the snacks provided were safe for Sam and Dan :-P Dan loves Karen!
Emily has technically been part of scouts for several months,
but received her pin today (along with NINE patches)
Flag ceremony, I can never remember the girl scout promise,
it's too different from the boy scout promise.
Rachel received several patches today,
for items she earned while on the family campout.
