National Blog Post, Park edition

We are definitely blessed with the parks, and so today I gave thanks for not only the gorgeous fall weather, but the abundance of parks that surround our community. Not only do we have a park right next to our house, our city has over 55 park areas. In the surrounding communities, there are virtually dozens of really wonderful parks.

Recently someone asked what our most useful resource was for homeschooling, and I was stumped. Was it books? Internet? Coop classes? In hindsight I probably should have said our city parks, because they range from brightly colored playgrounds in which the kids can climb and burn energy, to wide open expanses to play sports, to nature reserves in which we quietly observe the verdant growth and wildlife.
