All last summer he wanted to know how to ride a bike sans training wheels. I learned some time ago there is very little point in breaking your back holding their bike, hunched over and running behind them as they try to figure out balance. So we worked a bit, but didn't kill ourselves. This year, he is seven, and Emily took all of five minutes, dragging him to the top of a concrete hill and letting go, for him to get it. Bike is a little small this year, but I think that's helped...isn't he cute? And he's very proud too.
